Kamloops Buddhist Temple

Notice:

All temple services and activities are cancelled until further notice.

At the temple, safety is first on our minds and so all group services and activities have been cancelled and the temple will remain closed for the remainder of this year.

We were able to complete the spring chow mein sale in three sessions at the end of June and beginning of July using COVID rules. This proved to be very successful. This income will help with the temple finances for a while.

The Board of Directors continue to meet virtually every month to review our situation. Please contact us with any concerns.
Please take good care of yourselves and each other.

Please stay healthy and take care.

In Gassho,

Board of Directors

Kamloops Buddhist Temple

Kamloops is a city in south central British Columbia, Canada, at the confluence of the two branches of the Thompson River and near Kamloops Lake. It is the largest community in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

The Kamloops Buddhist Temple was established over 60 years ago, and is a member Temple of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada.

Services are held on the first and third Sunday of each month, at 10:30 am. Reverend Yasuhiro Miyakawa leads the services, which are conducted in both English and Japanese.

Everyone is welcome to attend services and fully participate, or simply observe if you prefer. Reverend Miyakawa or a Temple Board member will be happy to answer any questions visitors may have.

The Temple is located at 361 Poplar Street in North Kamloops.

We encourage you to read the September 2020 Kamloops Newsletter where you can find a calendar of happenings in and around the Temple.
